How it works

Live in three steps

  1. 1

Sit in front of your webcam

Any ordinary webcam works. No phone, no suit, no markers. Look at the screen and press Calibrate once.

  2. 2

    Pick your character

Start with a free avatar, buy one from the shop, or order a character made just for you.

  3. 3

    Choose “Avatado Camera”

Select it in OBS, Zoom, Discord or Teams like any other webcam. In OBS you can also use Spout2 with a transparent background.

Features

It moves when you move

Face, head, body, hands and fingers are tracked together from one camera, so your character reads as one living thing.

A face that reads you

Brows, eyes, cheeks, jaw and lips follow your expressions, and the mouth moves with your voice.

Blinks, smiles, kisses, frowns, lip sync

Hands and every finger

Wave, point, count or make a fist. Wrists and fingers follow you, and they bend the way real fingers bend.

21 tracked points on each hand

Head and upper body

Turn, lean, nod and twist. The torso follows your shoulders and head smoothly, without jitter.

Head, neck, chest and waist

Fur, hair and special materials

Fur and hair that move with you, plus materials like glowing energy, lava, liquid chrome, jelly and pearl.

Hair physics on every strand

Stream, call or record

A virtual camera for any app, Spout2 with transparency for OBS, video recording with sound, and transparent screenshots.

720p and 1080p output

Light while you game

Game mode lowers the load when a full-screen game is in front, and hotkeys switch expressions without leaving the game.

Global hotkeys for expressions

Your camera stays on your computer

Tracking runs on your own PC. Avatado does not upload your camera image, and you don't need an account to use it.

  • No cloud processing
  • No account needed
  • Nothing recorded unless you press Record

Questions people ask

Which apps can I use it with?

Any app that lets you choose a camera: OBS Studio, Zoom, Google Meet, Discord, Microsoft Teams and streaming tools. Select “Avatado Camera” as your webcam. In OBS you can also add it through Spout2 with a transparent background.

Do I need an iPhone or a special camera?

No. A normal webcam is enough. Avatado reads your face, body, hands and fingers from that one camera.

Does my video go online?

No. Tracking runs on your PC, and the camera image is never uploaded. Recordings are saved only on your computer, and only when you press Record.

Is it free?

The app is free during early access. Avatars from the shop and custom characters are paid.

Can I use my own 3D model?

Not yet. Avatars are made by the Avatado studio so they track well from the start. If you want your own character, request a custom one.

Windows says it protected my PC. Is that normal?

Yes, this happens with new apps. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. The installer only installs Avatado and the Avatado Camera.
